Chanan Mazal

Chanan Mazal was born and studied in the United States. After receiving Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Yeshiva University, he moved to Israel in 1980 and currently resides and works in Jerusalem, where he studied graphic design at Bezalel Academy, the training institution for some of the finest Judaica artists working today. He has written about himself, Our rich culture, tumultuous history and, of course, timeless religious literature are inspirations for my major works of art. Although I enjoy decoration for its own sake, I believe that Jewish art must reveal the more meaningful layers of our traditions. Therefore, I choose the imagery after much research, with the goal of creating a visual commentary, to strengthen the viewer's connection with our heritage. About his work that we now offer for sale at our gallery he has said, I have begun this new collection of Judaic Art giclee prints. The...technique enables brilliance, accuracy and permanence of color impossible in the past...With this new collection of prints, I hope to offer both the visual pleasure - and little taste of what I find so beautiful in our Torah and traditions. I hope to convey the richness of our history, the uniqueness of the Land of Israel, and my proud commitment to Zionism.
