 Stone Chanukah Menorah

The contemporary chanukiah comes in all shapes and is made in all types of material. Thus, it was of no surprise to us to find this one made of stone. The individual candle holders, cylinders cut from differently colored unpolished stones, are arranged atop a base made of green slate lengths. When not in use, the base can be inverted and the holders stored within. The rough stone is visually interesting.

candle holder dimensions; diameter - 3/4”, height – 1 1/4“ (shamash height – 1 1/2“): base dimensions; length – 11 1/2“, width – 1 3/4“, height – 1 1/2“

 Aluminum Menorah

We were immediately impressed when we saw this chanukiah. A modular chanukiah allows for creative arranging; this example, with all the pieces made of aluminum, has a particularly interesting design.

approx. length of each piece - 1 ½"; the total length depends on how you arrange the chanukiah.

Price: $125.00

 Vintage Israeli Brass Candy Dish

Pal-Bell covered candy dish (catalogue no #318 - "Ruth"): this hand-finished cast brass candy bowl with hinged cover and dark green patina (The image suggests a blacker hue than the actual color.) exemplifies the attractive metal pieces produced by the Israeli company Pal-Bell during the 50's. The cover is embossed with an image of Ruth harvesting wheat and around the lid is a decoration of grape laden vines. Some of the underlying brass was allowed to peek through the patina forming highlights in the image. The bowl is in good condition with a few minor dents, scratches and patina loss. Stamped on the bottom surface are the company logo, "made in Israel" in both Hebrew and English, and the number 220.

diameter - 5 3/8"; height - 2 1/8"

Price: $380.00

 Decorative Pal-Bell Plate

A large decorative plate manufactured by Pal-Bell in the 50's-60's. The image at the bottom of the plate is of a man sowing seeds; around the image is a Hebrew quote, "They who sow in tears will reap in joy." (Psalms 126, 5) The plate, which has an opening on the rear to facilitate hanging, is in very good condition with the original finish largely intact. There is discoloration on the plate's rim (seen on the left in the image here), apparently due to previously attached tape, and some loss of finish on the rear (not shown). The plate is marked on the rear with: the Pal-Bell logo; and Made in Israel in both English and Hebrew.

plate size: diameter - 13"; height - 2"

Price: $200.00
