A collection of 6 aerial photographs of sites in Palestine. This remarkable set of views includes Rishon Lezion, Bet Yoseph in the Jordan Valley, Tel Aviv, Capernaum, the Hadassah Hospital, and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. These attractive images from ca. 1937 are of historical interest. Each photograph is backed onto cardboard with an explanatory label in German pasted on the back. Schocken, a successful retailer in Germany, established a publishing house in Germany that continued as two branches – one in the United States and the other in Israel. The photographs are in good condition: there are two small losses in the image of the Hadassah Hospital, one in the lower left corner and the other in the upper left margin; and a small loss in the upper left corner of the Rishon Lezion photograph. As far as we can tell these six comprise the complete set. They come in a cloth bound folio with small tears along the spine and some staining.
