Jean David designed this poster for the Zim Shipping Company most probably in the 1950’s, and most certainly before 1969 when passenger services had already stopped. Zim, which started out as a carrier of surviving Jews coming to Israel from Europe is currently one of the larger commercial shipping lines in the world. A man reading as he reclines comfortably with a smoke and a glass of wine reflects the text above the ship (Genesis – 49,15),He saw that rest was good. Beneath, the text reads Travel with the ships of Zion. Condition – very good with only a slight repaired tear visible along the right edge near the bottom; linen backed.
