Neues Bauen in Tel Aviv 1930-1939: New Buildings in Tel Aviv, a Jewish Museum of Vienna 1995 exhibit. In Tel Aviv, the 30’s was a decade of innovative architectural design. Fortunately, many of the buildings built in this period survive, although in generally poor condition, so that Tel Aviv is a city unique in its treasury of modernist architecture. Currently, renovations of these structures are underway. This poster is 33″ x 23 1/4″ and in excellent condition. Our correspondent in Israel (Charles Kamen) informs us that the building pictured stands on the western side of the Ayalon highway, near the new Tel Aviv central bus station at the corner of Derekh Hahagana and Golomb.
Bauhaus Tel Aviv – An Architectural Guide by Nahoum Cohen (Batsford, 2003) has photographs and descriptions of the various Bauhaus buildings, together with descriptions of architectual elements, building plans, and more.
