The movie The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz is based on a tale of the same title by Mordechai Richler (1931-2001). The hero is an ambitious youth from a working-class Jewish family, coming of age in Montreal. The 1974 movie starring Richard Dreyfuss was nominated for a best writing Oscar award in 1975 and was awarded a Golden Berlin Bear in 1974 for its director Ted Kotcheff. The poster design cleverly quotes the movie: an aspiring Duddy while a waiter at a Canadian summer resort is represented as a silver hood ornament on a Dodge – the (then) ideal middle-class luxury car. The poster is in good condition with pinholes in the four corners; and age coloring and slight damage along the original folds. We generally ship posters rolled into a mailing tube.
