An almost full-length portrait of a grocer standing in her store (Rusel, 463L). Various goods line the shelves; and also behind her is a barrel that must house something for sale. The woman’s face is somewhat detailed while everything else has been left largely in outline. Struck must have been interested in this woman since he made another sketch of her standing in another part of the shop. This second lithograph appeared as the cover image in the 25 June, 1916 edition of the paper Skizzen-Mappe, der “Kownoer Zeitung”. That suggests, of course, that he made the sketch in Kovno. The print on wove paper is in excellent condition with only a few handling creases around the edges. It has been signed (Struck) just below the woman’s figure.
